Bouron & Cigars Night - Monday, June 29, 6:30 pm- 9pm

Paloma opened its doors a little less than a year ago, adding to the allure of Stamford’s emerging Harbor Point community.  Its Latin inspired cuisine created by Executive Chef Aarón Sánchez, combined with a strong beverage program and a stunning bi-level space overlooking Stamford Harbor continues to make its mark on this new food, drink and social gathering destination.

On Monday, June 29, Beverage Director Olie Berlic and Chef de Cuisine Chris Bateman will present a 6-course dining experience that will pair craft-made bourbon cocktails with Latin-inspired botanas. Olie is an award-winning sommelier, cocktail aficionado and bartender, and has been a professional in the fine wine and spirits industry for over 25 years. He is the creator of Beleza Pura Cachaça and Caipirinha, and the first importer in the U.S. to create a portfolio of handcrafted cachaças. Chef Bateman, upon graduating from the Culinary Institute of American in New York, took a worldwide approach to honing his culinary skills. In 2000, Chris joined The Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts as the Sous Chef for The Pierre Hotel in New York and in 2003 was promoted to the Chef de Cuisine at The Four Seasons Resort in Maui. In 2011, he joined the pre-opening team of Jumeirah Creekside Hotel in Dubai as the Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director and would later join the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai as the Senior Executive Sous Chef before making his way back to Hawaii as the Executive Chef for The Four Seasons Hualalai, and ultimately joining Aarón to open Paloma in his hometown of Stamford, CT.

This multi-sensory event begins at 6:30 with a straight bourbon tasting presented by Olie, featuring crafted bourbons by Duke and Burnside, Basil Hayden, Maker's 46, Knob Creek, Booker’s and Angel's Envy (subject to change). Guests will then be able to experience bourbon based cocktails paired with a variety of botanas prepared by Chef Bateman, both sweet and savory. Cigars can be enjoyed on Paloma’s gorgeous second story patio.
