The Bridgeport Renaissance is Real!
Waterside Restaurant Opens and Celebrates the Summer Season

June 1, 2019, Bridgeport, CT: Located in the newly developed coastal neighborhood at Bridgeport’s Steelpointe Harbor, Boca Oyster Bar takes its place as the anchor restaurant and event venue within this urban multi-use destination. With a seafood inspired food concept, high spirited beverage program, and waterside dining amid a visually stunning and vibrant design aesthetic, Boca’s location in the high-octane city of Bridgeport makes this unique restaurant a true standout within Fairfield County’s evolving dining scene.

Spearheaded by Steelpointe Restaurant Group, Boca offers 13,000 square feet of dining, bar, and patio space. Designed by Emilia Ferri Architecture + Design, a local award-winning licensed architect with an innovative design sense, Boca plays to its waterside locale and New England sensibility.  Upon entry, visitors are greeted by a massive four-corner bar punctuated by floating soffit lighting, white multi-wave ceramic tile, and a bar top of gray ash wood likened to driftwood that’s been washed ashore.  The raw bar filled with icy crustaceans is another focal point and is wrapped in periwinkle dust glass tile and a white ice quartz countertop.

Ash wood tables fill up the many dining nooks. In addition to the natural lighting from the spaces’ panoramic coastline view, decorative lighting accents throughout the space include an enclosed fireplace, nautical roped globes, bubble glass ball pendants, and tiered linear luminaires which drape over the high-top tables and illuminate the slate blue walls and white shiplap wainscot.  Vintage harbor maps and coastal views pay homage to Bridgeport’s historic seaport city at the mouth of the Pequonnock River on Long Island Sound. A mounted 35-foot wooden mast from a schooner dating back to 1870 is a historic relic originally from a Black Rock boatyard.  Rustic wood buoys and oars and hemp rope tie in the nautical theme. Outdoor dining, warming fire pits, lounge furnishings, and an outdoor bar add a whole other dimension to this striking waterfront restaurant and gathering place.

The menu features quintessential New England seafood fare, as seen with such fish house favorites as colossal fried shrimp with hand cut fried potatoes and cabbage slaw, jumbo crab cake with a citrus crema, and the Boca lobster roll with fresh picked Maine lobster, warm sherry, and Old Bay butter sauce on a brioche roll. House specials include; grilled octopus with crispy garbanzo, Kalamata olives, sea salt and lemon; sesame crusted ahi tuna tacos with wasabi and mango salsa; New Zealand lamb lollipops with chimichurri sauce; Steelpointe clams casino flatbread with fresh shucked little necks, EVOO, herbs, Applewood bacon, and grated parmigiana; 42oz cowboy bone-in ribeye with choice of sauce; pan seared Diver sea scallops with vegetable lo mein and a chipotle crema; Maine lobster ravioli with shrimp, scallops, peas, and red roasted peppers in a pink cream sauce;  and a variety of seasonal salads, juicy burgers, hearty sandwiches, and raw bar favorites.

The beverage program combines today’s craft cocktail culture with island’esque frozen drinks, the popular frosé, craft beer, and an accessible wine list.
