Melt Mobile Food Truck & Catering Begins a New Chapter
Beloved Food Truck Announces Sole Ownership,
A Refreshed Brand and New Catering Menu
August 27, 2024, Stamford, CT: In 2012, Melt Mobile, a modern approach to everyone’s favorite comfort food, grilled cheese, was introduced to the public during the brand’s build-out on the Food Network’s show “3 Days to Open with Bobby Flay.” The show exposed Melt Mobile’s trials and tribulations of creating a food service business. While it may not have been pretty, it catapulted this Stamford-based cheesy food truck concept into a local food truck phenomenon. Today, Owner Diana Hall, who recently obtained sole ownership from her former partner Darlene Andersen, has refreshed the brand with a new logo and more sophisticated look, including a fresh truck wrap, website, and updated menus and offerings, including an expanded catering arm.
“Our brand really started to evolve when COVID hit, and hosts and party planners were looking to cater weddings, mitzvahs, and various events either outside or with safe distancing, “says Diana, “The food truck opened up all sorts of possibilities. Full-service catering and an extensive hors d’oeuvres menu were added to our signature scratch-made grilled cheese sandwich offerings.”
Diana Hall, an NYU and French Culinary Institute graduate, honed her restaurant skills as a chef and operations manager in prestigious restaurants throughout New York and Connecticut. As a seasoned chef and natural leader, Diana was ready to do things on her own terms. Hence, she and her former partner pursued a food truck concept, avoiding the pitfalls of a brick-and-mortar restaurant and creating a niche category with legs to it.
Melt Mobile adapts an American classic for today's eating habits: from scratch, creative, comforting sandwiches infused with originality, sustainability, and quality. Diana’s no-nonsense approach to maintaining a successful food service business with brand identity and integrity at its core continues to raise the bar of the local food truck scene.
Grilled cheese favorites include their Original Melt with Vermont cheddar, New School American, Monterey jack, mozzarella, and Gruyere on country white bread; Smash Burger Patty Melt made with a 6oz Angus smash burger, New School American cheese, caramelized onions, dill pickles, and Melt sauce on grilled country white; The Meatball, filled with Diana’s famous meatballs in marinara, fresh mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, Parmigiano Reggiano, and fresh basil on Tuscan bread: and the California Chicken Melt made with muenster cheese, grilled chicken, vine-ripened tomatoes, avocado, and buttermilk ranch on grilled multigrain Tuscan bread. Dessert melts run the gamut from creamy NY Cheesecake sandwiched between grilled marble pound cake and dusted with powdered sugar to the jammin’ Fluffernutter with caramelized bananas, marshmallow fluff, Belgian chocolate, and peanut butter on crunchy Tuscan bread.
Melt Mobile’s catering menu is a mouthwatering and visually stunning variety of salads, sandwich platters, passed hors d’oeuvres, and bounty tables. Diana’s culinary prowess shines with such crowd-pleasers as panko-crusted jumbo lump crab cakes served with micro greens and lemon caper aioli, a crostini trio with white beans, shrimp, and whipped ricotta, a wild mushroom duxelles version, and classic tomato bruschetta, as well as the skirt steak quesadilla triangles with a dollop of guacamole and sour cream.
Melt Mobile is available to vend at community events, fairs, and festivals. Catering and special events are the main focus for this growing brand, which currently has two trucks.
