Edgy New Bar, Lounge and Event Space

Makes its Mark on the SoNo Nightlife and Social Scene

October 10, 2016, South Norwalk, CT:  Room 112 is the product of Isaac Patrick Camoro’s twenty plus years in the bar business throughout New York and Connecticut. It paints the picture of a cocktail culture that has progressed, and answers the call for a bar that has nothing to prove but rather, simply speaks to the art of the cocktail wrapped in a SOHO chic atmosphere.

Camoro, always ahead of the curve, is most well-known for creating intriguing beverage programs for some of Fairfield County’s most progressive restaurants including cb5 Hospitality Group’s Lolita, Red Lulu, J House and Gabriele’s. His bartending skills were most recently enjoyed by loyal followers at South Norwalk’s Harlan Publick. Whether it’s the simple pleasure of imbibing with a martini or conventional cocktail prepared properly or the ability and creativity to craft a unique cocktail experience utilizing the best spirits, aromatics, mixers, and yes – showmanship, Camoro and Room 112’s uber talented mixologists deliver on all fronts.

“It’s no different than the culinary world, “Camoro explains, “It’s about great ingredients and execution, presented in an atmosphere that makes the customer feel something. In our case, it can be a myriad of things depending on the night!” jokes Camoro.

Room 112 can be described as an urban garage meets underground lounge. The bi-level space is framed in exposed brick walls, the canvas for an array of local artists who showcase their talent.  The furnishings and eclectic lighting fixtures and mirrors are bohemian chic, as is the entertainment, a revolving schedule of local musicians, DJ spun tunes, and a little glitz and glam thrown into the mix. A man’s-cave style game room which includes a pool table, dart boards, shuffleboard, a jukebox, and bar occupies the lower level, yet another layer to this unique night spot.

Camoro’s flare for the dramatic as it pertains to the cocktail is backed up by his keen sense for balancing flavors and punctuating the best qualities of a spirit, liqueur, herb or mixer. Illustrations of such innovative cocktails include; the Simone, comprised of Belvedere Vodka, Black Hennessy Cognac, Combier Liqueur, vanilla paste, balsamic pomegranate, fresh lime juice, layered with red wine and cava, and garnished with a flambé orange zest and served up; the Pinacita is made with Absolute Elyx Vodka, Koval Chrysanthemum & Honey Liqueur, St Elder Liqueur, lime juice, fresh serrano peppers, grilled pineapple, pink peppercorns, topped with a Campari foam; and the Old Tom Fashion consists of Ransom Cast Gin, Antica Sweet Vermouth, muddled tangerines, cherry and sugar, a dash of Angostura Bitters, and is garnished with an orange slice and a brandy cherry.

Room 112 is open 4 nights a week, Wednesday thru Saturday and is an amazing venue for corporate meetings and special events. Catering partner Harbor Harvest offers a variety of wonderful, fresh, and locally sourced menu options.
