April 15, 2025, New Haven, CT: The Melting Pot has been dazzling food enthusiasts for over 50 years with its interactive fondue dining experience. This May, Melting Pot in New Haven will add to the city’s diverse and thriving culinary landscape. The new restaurant is located at 20 George Street, within the newly constructed Anthem at Square 10 mixed-use building, situated on the former site of the New Haven Coliseum. The restaurant’s 5,600-square-foot corner location accentuates the building’s modern design aesthetic and progressive ethos.

Spearheaded by owners Daina and Jonathan Reeves (corporate financiers gone rogue) and their son Josh, a seasoned hospitality professional and Johnson & Wales University alumnus,  Melting Pot New Haven is poised to become a true standout destination for those looking to spice up their food game and enjoy a more social dining experience.

“What’s special about Melting Pot is that it’s not just about going out to eat. It’s an event,” say Jonathan and Daina about their long history of enjoying Melting Pot with their family members. “You can really participate in an intimate moment together, enjoy the various courses, and engage with the people you’re with. It allows you to break away from the day-to-day and have something different and special.”

What can one expect from a Melting Pot dining experience? To begin, the dining tables and bar counter are designed with induction cooktops, which heat the cook style in either a fondue pot or a grill pan, directly through magnetic induction rather than a traditional heating element, providing a safe and fun fondue party environment. Savory fondue options include a variety of melted cheese flavors from the classic Alpine with Gruyère, raclette, fontina, white wine, garlic, and nutmeg to the Fiesta style with aged cheddar, Emmenthaler, Sam Adams Boston Lager®, housemade salsa, and jalapeño, all served with lots of great breads and fresh produce for dipping, in addition to traditional fondue cooking styles such as Court Bouillon (broth),  traditional oil, and Coq Au Vin (burgundy wine) for cooking proteins (meat, chicken, and shrimp) and vegetables. A global flavor palate of dipping sauces accompanies the entrée fondues. In addition to a variety of salads such as Caesar and strawberry pecan, an extended entrée menu includes duck breast, Memphis dry rub pork, petite filet, Atlantic salmon, wild mushroom ravioli, and more.

The sweet side of the Melting Pot experience is its famous, silky, chocolatey, fabulous fondues, from the pure milk, dark, or white chocolate fondue to the decadent Flaming Turtle - a milk chocolate, caramel flambé, candied pecan palooza, all served with fresh fruit and sweet treats for dipping. Both the savory and sweet offerings can be enjoyed à la carte or within set dining packages. Gluten-free and vegetarian dishes are available.

Melting Pot New Haven’s beverage program is equally as vibrant and tantalizing as the menu offerings. Creative cocktails, local craft beer, and a carefully curated wine list complement the Melting Pot experience.

The stunning space is adorned with dark wood wall panels and a neutral backdrop of industrial gray floor and wall tiling. Intimate dining nooks, open high-top seating, plush color-splashed banquette seating, and an eclectic mix of artwork and large contemporary lighting fixtures fill the room.  The bar seats 13 people, and the dining area can accommodate up to 230 guests, with an additional 20 people in the private party room and 40 on the patio.

Melting Pot New Haven is preparing to open mid-May. Guests can look forward to a fresh new dining option, as well as unique offerings and events such as their popular “Down to Fondue” happy hour,  a “Thursdate®”   4-course dinner package, private event planning, and more.
