November 13, 2024, Morris, CT: West Shore Seafood has earned a reputation since it first opened its doors in June 2007 as the go-to destination for casual, seasonal al fresco dining, emphasizing New England seafood fare. Owner Susie Pregno is now introducing the restaurant’s year-round business model, complete with a new indoor/outdoor heated construction, a comforting land and sea menu, and a full-service bar. This year-round concept was to be introduced in 2023, but an electrical fire in January of 2023 interrupted those plans after damaging much of the restaurant’s kitchen, marketplace, and offices. Today, with renovations underway, West Shore Seafood is operating fully with its new menu and new hours.
“This is an exciting time for us,” says Owner Susie Pregno of introducing the restaurant’s new menu and year-round concept, “Our challenge ahead is getting customers to view West Shore Seafood not only as a year-round restaurant but as a destination that goes beyond summertime lobster rolls and shrimp in a basket.”
West Shore Seafood’s enhanced concept is called “The Office,” which pays homage to Susie's father, Sam, who kindly shared the premises with her during those bustling summer months. During the winter, it was solely occupied by Sam's office until his retirement. Now that the restaurant is open year-round, the winter space is affectionately called The Office, preserved as a tribute to those days.

Menu highlights include seasonal soups and small plates such as warm French onion soup dip, parmesan truffle fries with caviar and creme fraiche, and handmade crab cakes with roasted red pepper remoulade.
Fresh salads include warm winter greens with baby kale, dried cherries, parmesan, walnuts, and balsamic honey dressing. Hearty sandwiches and burgers run the gamut, from the bold and bleu burger with smoky bacon pepper jam, tangy bleu cheese, and sweet caramelized onions, served on a butter-grilled brioche bun, to a grilled Faroe Island salmon BLT. Entrees are a comforting variety of dishes that include a slow-cooked Moroccan vegetable tagine, chicken & waffles with chipotle-infused maple syrup, braised short ribs over creamy cheesy grits, baked stuffed shrimp, and lobster ravioli.
West Shore Seafood offers off-the-charts desserts, all made in-house, from seasonal fruit pies to carrot cake and whoopie pies. In addition to the dinner menu, the restaurant offers lunch, brunch, kids, and bar menus. An extensive beverage program features local craft breweries, a curated wine list, and creative and seasonal cocktails.
“We had great fun creating the beverage menu. Our relationships with local brewers over the years from doing events together made it easy when picking out the beers to be featured. And I’m not gonna lie. Getting the cocktail recipes just right was a tough job, but somebody had to do it,” says Susie of perfecting the Gold Rush made with Knob Creek bourbon, honey simple syrup, and lemon juice, and the Fiery Tequila Cosmo shaken with Casamigos Tequila, Cointreau, cranberry juice, fresh lime, and Simple Sips Smokin' Hot mango puree.
