Market Hospitality Group Takes Over The Wheel in Stamford, CT

Waterfront Restaurant, Bar, and Event Venue Sets a New Course

May 17, 2024, Stamford, CT:  The Wheel, located on the waterfront in Stamford's South End within The Village, a stunning multi-use property, was recently taken over by Market Hospitality Group (MHG). Market Hospitality Group is based in Newtown, CT, and is led by seasoned restaurateurs Eli Hawli and Chef Sam DeVellis. Their powerhouse restaurant group continues to raise the bar throughout Connecticut and New York with a portfolio that now includes Market Place Kitchen & Bar, Market Place Tavern, Mercato Italian Kitchen, Beso Taco Bar, Blu Pointe Prime Steak and Seafood on the Hudson, with additional restaurant concepts up and down the East Coast, including the world-famous Key Largo Fisheries. Rooted in local, organic, and sustainably harvested food and with a reputation for producing restaurants that ooze warmth and genuine hospitality, Market Hospitality Group, with over 20 restaurants currently operating,  is the company to watch, with more locations on the horizon.

MHG eagerly anticipates introducing new offerings at The Wheel, including a brand-new raw bar and expanded wine offerings. With a larger patio for increased outdoor dining, the group will highlight new seasonal events, such as lobster bakes and a smokehouse barbecue. An exciting live music schedule with a range of music genres will add to the restaurant’s spirited ethos. In addition to The Wheel, MHG will oversee food and beverage management for The Village’s three premium event spaces.

The kitchen is under the direction of MHG Executive Chef Matthew DeLongis, a Culinary Institute of America graduate and Jean-Georges alum.

The Wheel will now be open Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, beginning with brunch at 11:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., respectively, and closing at 10:00 p.m.
