Milford Sports Pub & Grill Reopens! A New Sports Pub for a New Day

June 15, 2020, Milford, CT: Milford Sports Pub & Grill is everything a sports bar and restaurant should be. A family-friendly, high energy, food forward, drink centric, entertaining venue that has something for everyone. Milford Sports Pub & Grill opened its doors September 2019, filling the wonderfully large (200 capacity) and easily accessible space at 290 Old Gate Lane in Milford, CT, formerly a Bennigan’s restaurant back in the day.
 
Spearheaded by seasoned industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and life-long friends John Romano and Joseph Sandolo, the duo first crossed paths when John worked in the original John's Best Pizza for Joe's father. John and Joe teamed up to expand the Sandolo's business enterprises, catapulting the success of John’s Best Pizza in Connecticut. When the opportunity to create a new concept at 290 Old Gate Lane presented itself to John and Joe, there was no doubt in their minds how best to utilize the sizable free-standing restaurant space.

Located directly off I-95 and housed in a large private parking lot, the restaurant's large stone façade gives entry into an open floor plan which boasts a circular bar (seats 50), a long communal table, high-top seating, and traditional dining space. 40 HD TVs and a massive video wall beams sporting events 24/7, creating an energized and multi-sensory experience, appealing to avid and non-sports fans alike. All-access sports channels cover the gamut from major/minor league games and college tournaments, to UFC fights, golf, race car driving, and special events. A portion of the parking lot has been transformed into a lively outdoor dining patio and activity space for corn hole and jumbo Connect-4 games and more. The large space and property allow for comfortable safe space dining and social distancing, while still being able to enjoy time with family, friends, and coworkers. 

 

 
The Milford Sports Pub & Grill menu features pub grub at its best with some added Italian twists. From a mound of cheesy-spicy nachos and over-the-top chicken wings to meatballs with ricotta and decadent bang-bang shrimp, there is plenty to start your meal off right. Hearty salads and overstuffed sandwiches share the stage with juicy short rib brisket blend burgers topped how you like it. We love it the Milford way with slab bacon, swiss cheese, caramelized onions, and Succo’s sauce.  10-inch personalized thin-crust pizzas include the popular loaded potato pie topped with homemade mashed, caramelized onions, bacon bits, and sharp cheddar. Entrees include crispy fish & chips, classic spaghetti & meatballs and chicken parm, as well as baby back ribs and chef specials.
 
The beverage program features an extensive and revolving selection of craft beer, creative cocktails, premium spirits, and curated wine selections.   A robust schedule of live music, open mic sessions, and trivia nights add to this enjoyable high-octane sports pub destination.
